1. What is JInitiator ?

 

JInitiator is the Oracle Virtual Machine (JVM). JInitiator runs the Oracle Forms client applets in the client Browser. For more details you can read the Oracle Metalink Doc. ID 162488.1

 

2. How could I know if JInitiator is installed on my computer ?

 

On Windows: 

Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs:

 

Oracle JInitiator

 

We can see also the version of JInitiator. In this case the version of JInitiator is 1.3.1.21.

 

 

3. How could I install JInitiator (for IE) on my computer ?

 

a ) Logon to the Oracle Applications E-Business Suite Home page:

 

http://apps.localdomain:8000/oa_servlets/AppsLogin

 

 

b) Try to access a Form in the Oracle Applications E-Business Suite:

 

Oracle JInitiator

 

If this message will appears on the top of the window, that means the Oracle JInitiator is not installed. Click on that message and chose after the pop-up menu "Install ActiveX Control ...". 

 

 

c) Click again to access that Form (or another). The following window will apear:

Click on "Install".

On the "Oracle JInitiator Setup" window choose a location for the JInitiator and click "Next".

 

When JInitiator will be successfully installed a message will appear to inform you about this.

 

 

4. How could I remove the JInitiator from my computer (The OS is Windows) ?

 

Go to Control Panel ->Add or Remove Programs:

Press "Change/ Remove" button.
