1. What is Oracle Report Manager used for (FRM)?

 

Oracle Report Manager (FRM) is a repository for storing and viewing reports. 

2. How could apply the latest FRM patch?

 

At this moment (April, 2008) the latest FRM version is FRM.H (4206794, MetaLink Note 378338.1). you can check on Metalink if there are other versions available of this patch. 

 

The following steps are specific to the 11.5.10.2 on Linux. 

 

A. Prerequisites (needed for 11.5.10.2):

 

a) 3218526 - BNE Patch 11i.BNE.D. For more information click here:  Apply the last version of BNE in Oracle 11i.

 

b) 3761838 - FRM Patch 11i.FRM.G

 

c) Oracle Applications strongly recommends that our customers convert to Multi-Org as soon as possible.

 

 

Applying 3761838 - FRM Patch 11i.FRM.G (see Metalink Note 280631.1)

a) 3854951: FSG XML PUBLISHER DELIVERY

 

>> Apply the Minipack 11i.FRM.G <<

Use AutoPatch to apply the u3761838.drv driver file on all applications server nodes.

 

After the patch is applied :

 

- Generate message files 
- Compile APPS schema(s) 
- Compile flexfield data 
- Recreate grants and synonyms for APPS schema(s) 

 

 

If you use Multiple Reporting Currencies; Maintain Multiple Reporting Currencies schema(s), enter Yes for the following options: 
- Update MRC schema itself 
- Compile invalid objects after updating MRC schema objects 
- Recreate MRC triggers in the APPS schema(s)

Remove image cache files within directory "$OA_HTML/cabo/images/cache" and style sheet cache files within directory "$OA_HTML/cabo/styles/cache" after the patch is successfully applied. 

IMPORTANT: Change the permissions to 777 on the directories $OA_HTML/cabo/images and $OA_HTML/cabo/styles, so that they are writable by the user who owns the apache process. 

 

B. Apply FRM Patch 11i.FRM.H (see Metalink Note 378338.1)

 

Use AutoPatch to apply the u4206794.drv driver file on all applications server nodes

 

After the patch is applied :

 

- Generate message files 
- Compile APPS schema(s) 
- Compile flexfield data 
- Recreate grants and synonyms for APPS schema(s) 

 

If you use Multiple Reporting Currencies; Maintain Multiple Reporting Currencies schema(s), enter Yes for the following options: 
- Update MRC schema itself 
- Compile invalid objects after updating MRC schema objects 
- Recreate MRC triggers in the APPS schema(s)

Gather schema statistics 
Execute the concurrent program Gather Schema Statistics from the System Administrator responsibility and choose ALL schemas. 

 

Restart Application server processes.
