1. Download the OAS 10.1.2

2. Install the OAS Infrastructure

3. Test the installation

1. Download the OAS 10.1.2

 

Download the Oracle Application Server (OAS) 10.1.2 (release 2) from Oracle: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/index.html

 

After the download uncompress the .cpio files:

$ cat as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101202_disk1.cpio | cpio -idvm

$ cat as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101202_disk2.cpio | cpio -idvm

$ cat as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101202_disk3.cpio | cpio -idvm

$ cat as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101202_disk4.cpio | cpio -idvm

 

 

2. Install the OAS Infrastructure

 

NOTES: 

  • Before start the installation of the OAS Infrastructure, please create an Oracle Home for this installation. The OAS Infrastructure must have his own ORACLE_HOME.

  • Also you can create a user on the OS level to be the owner of the installation (for this installation I created the oas user).

From the Disk1 directory start the OAS Infrastructure installation:

[oas@MW Disk1]$ ./runInstaller

 

Install OIM Infrastructure 10g

 

Click on "Next".

 

 

Install OIM Infrastructure 10g

 

Choose the inventory location and the group that has write permission to this inventory directory. After that click on "Next".

 

 

Install OIM Infrastructure 10g

 

On the OS level, run with root privileges the script shown in this window. After that click on "Continue" button.

 

Install OIM Infrastructure 10g

 

Choose the Oracle Home name and location. After that click on "Next" button.

 

Install OIM Infrastructure 10g

 

Choose the OAS Infrastructure installation. After that click on "Next" button.

 

Install OIM Infrastructure 10g

 

Select the first installation type (both Identity Management and Metadata Repository must be installed). After that click on "Next" button.

If some requirements are not succeeded, please fix the issue and check again. When all the requirements are succeeded click on "Next" button.

Check "Root Privileges" and after that click "Next".

Install the default components, so, click on "Next".

Choose a method for port configuration and after that click "Next".

I will let the default namespace. Click on "Next".

Choose the database name, the database character set and the database file location. Click on "Next".

Choose a password for SYS, SYSTEM, etc. 

Click on "Next".

Specify the Instance name (for the Infrastructure) and the ias_admin password.  

Click on "Next".

Click on "Install".

When this window will appear run the root.sh script. 

 

[root@MW Infra]# ./root.sh

Now product-specific root actions will be performed.
/etc/oracle does not exist. Creating it now.

[root@MW Infra]#

 After that click on "OK".

 

 

When the installation is completed, click on "Exit".

 

 

3. Test the installation

 

Use the following URL to access the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control Console : 
http://<hostname>.<localdomain>:1156

 

In my case this is : http://mw.localdomain:1156

 

 

Enter the ias_admin username and the password you set up during the OAS installation. Click "OK".

 

 

Click on the Infrastructure link. 

 

  

 

We can see that the HTTP Server, Internet Directory, OC4J_SECURITY, SSO Server, and the Management process are up and running.
